A complimentary shuttle operates during peak season, looping between key points including the Visitor & Nature Center, the Central Garden area, and Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site.

A Lasting Legacy

Garden of the Gods exists today due to the generosity and vision of Charles Elliott Perkins and his family, who donated 480 acres to the City of Colorado Springs in 1909, stipulating that the park remain free and open forever. Since then, the park has grown to encompass 1,367 acres of unparalleled natural beauty, continuing Perkins’ legacy of conservation, education, and public enjoyment.
